The driving force behind JaeWerks Web Design is Janet Pipkin. She has been designing websites since 1996 — an eternity in the online world. She got her start as a web developer for World Learning in Brattleboro, Vermont. In 1998 she went to work for the Rutland Herald and the Times Argus to develop and design their newspaper and community websites. She has been designing websites freelance since 2001.

Her prior background to working in web development was in Marketing Services and Copyediting.

She was also one of the pioneer class at Marlboro college for the master's program in Internet Strategy Management. She received her M.S., ISM in 1998.
